All My Children promotes the health and
well-being of African American LGBTQQ persons, their families and communities through
social justice research and interactive
intervention programs.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQQ) identified persons are a diverse group with varying life experiences and realities. Recognizing the cultural context within which they live their lives is essential for understanding how they negotiate their identities.

LGBTQQ persons who have membership in other socially marginalized groups (women, people of color, lower social economic status, and non-conforming gender identity) experience different realities that compound the negative effects of heterosexism. Race, gender, religion, and family are key aspects of diversity that should be taken into consideration when supporting LGBTQQ individuals and their families.
